Shock wave therapy for painful heel spurs or calcification of the shoulder joint

When is shock wave therapy appropriate?

Shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a gentle alternative to many operations. It often allows a gentle treatment of inflammation, calcification or injuries to the joint. Shockwave therapy also has practically no side effects and makes many operations unnecessary.

It is often used for the following symptoms:

  • calcified shoulder (tendinosis calcarea)
  • tennis golfer elbow (epicondylitis)
  • trochanteric pain syndrome
  • heel spur
  • plantar tendon inflammation
  • Achilles’ tendon inflammation (achillodynia)
  • Chronically painful trigger points of the musculature
